After working for a period as a therapist and marital counselor for the Catholic Social Services and then moving to the Forbes Health System Human Resources Department as a training and development specialist, Peg earned her doctoral degree (1985) in education (higher education and research methodology) at the University of Pittsburgh and ultimately completed her career at Pitt as the director of planning and administration for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for institutional advancement. In 1955, Margaret and Miss Mary moved to High Point to teach in the city schools.
